Everyone needs a will A will is a legal document a person uses to control how their personal and financial matters will be handled upon their passing. Dying intestate, without a will, may lead to very serious consequences. It permits the state to decide which heirs will receive the estate’s assets and under what conditions. Dying intestate may fail to protect a surviving husband’s or wife’s interests, or enable the government to appoint who it wants as children’s guardians or trustees. It may also levy greater taxation on an estate’s assets. If you answer “No” to any of the following questions, an attorney can help with your estate planning and will.
