San Diego Law Firm Newsletter - Perspective

At San Diego Law Firm, our team of lawyers can assist you in developing creative solutions to the most complex real property disputes.

When a dispute occurs between co-owners of real property, each co-owner has the option to divide the property equally between the owners. This procedure is commonly referred to as a "partition" of real property. The purpose of the partition is to divide the property proportionally among the owners and permanently end all disputes between the owners with regard to the property. This situation is common between business partners who purchase real property and siblings who have obtained title through inheritance. Many individuals are unaware that the option to partition real property is available. They may spend years bickering over the management and control of the property. In these situations, a partition provides an effective and cost-saving alternative to resolving property disputes. Once the property has been partitioned, each owner is entitled to receive the fair market value of their interest in the property. For more information about our services, please contact us today.
